We serve analysts, data scientists, ML, and product teams. We are a small, senior team based mostly in Tallinn. Because Veriff handles identity data, our job is to make data easy to use while keeping it secure, compliant, and cost-efficient.\n\nThe opportunity\n\nWe are moving towards a governed lakehouse that teams can use self-service. You will join our Data Engineering team and work closely with senior engineers. Your initial focus will be governance across both platforms: access control, handling of personal data, data lifecycle and deletion, and platform cost. You will own projects end-to-end, with support and mentoring from the team.\n\nWhat you'll achieve in your first 3 months\n\n- Learn how Veriff works and how data flows from our product into the Data Lake and Data Warehouse\n\n- Get comfortable with our architecture and tooling, and ship your first changes to production\n\n- Start your first project in data governance or cost optimization\n\nWhat you'll achieve by 6 months\n\n- Deliver your first project end-to-end\n\n- Help keep Data Warehouse costs flat or lower through query and compute tuning\n\n- Become a go-to person for data governance across the Data Lake and Warehouse\n\nWhat you'll bring — essential\n\n- Experience building and running production data pipelines\n\n- Strong SQL and Python\n\n- Hands-on experience with a cloud data platform, ideally AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift)\n\n- Experience working with sensitive or personal data, and a security-first mindset\n\n- Ownership: You take a project from idea to production and communicate clearly along the way\n\nNice to have\n\n- Redshift, Lake Formation, or lakehouse / open table formats (Iceberg, Delta, Hudi)\n\n- dbt and Apache Airflow\n\n- GDPR data deletion, data lifecycle, or metadata/catalog tools\n\nWhy Veriff?\n\nWe are the preferred identity verification platform partner for the world’s most innovative growth-driven organizations helping conveniently verify and safeguard users anywhere in the world.
