What we collect, and what we don't.
getwork.dev is run by Frank Spin (Made by Spin, Chamber of Commerce number 01129853) in the Netherlands. Questions and requests go to privacy@getwork.dev. Last updated 1 November 2026.
Searching without an account
The website, the JSON API, the feeds and the MCP server at getwork.dev/mcp work without an account. We don't store your search terms or tool arguments, and we never receive the rest of your conversation with an AI agent. We do keep:
- Daily usage counts: the surface, the tool or method, the client name (such as
claude-code) and a hash of your IP address and client name. The hash changes every month, and we don't store the IP address with it. - Daily counts per job of how often it was shown and opened, with nothing about who did it.
- Page counts from our own Umami installation at
analytics.madebyspin.com, which sets no cookies.
We keep these counts without an end date, to see how the service is used and to report reach to employers.
A job profile
If you sign in, we store what you give us and what the sign-in provider confirms:
- Your email address, your search preferences, your saved jobs and any links you add.
- With GitHub: your user id and login, account date, number of public repos and followers, the languages of your public repos, your primary verified email, and the blog, company and social accounts on your public profile. We use the access token during sign-in and don't keep it.
- With LinkedIn: your account id and name.
- A work email address, if you choose to verify one.
- Sessions, and access for any AI agent you connect to
getwork.dev/mcp/me.
We use this to show roles that fit you and to send the weekly match email, which you can turn off. Employers can't see your profile. If we open intros, an employer only sees what you approve, per employer.
We keep your profile until you delete it. Deleting your account on your profile page removes the profile, saved jobs, links, sessions and agent access straight away.
Employers
If you use the employer form or an employer account, we store your company, email address, plan and message, and any payments. We keep these as long as we are in contact and as long as tax law requires for payment records.
Who else handles data
- Cloudflare hosts the site and database, sends our email, and protects forms with Turnstile. It processes request data such as IP addresses, and technical logs are kept for a short time.
- GitHub and LinkedIn, only if you sign in with them.
- Mollie handles employer payments.
- Slots (
slots.madebyspin.com), our own sponsor system, fills sponsor spots on public pages, so your browser connects to it. It doesn't run on sign-in and account pages. For the sponsor line in the match email it receives a stack name, not who you are.
Sponsors never appear in the MCP server, the API or the feeds. We don't sell personal data.
Cookies
We only set cookies for signing in: one that ties a sign-in link to your browser, and your session. Scripts on the page can't read them.
Job listings
Listings come from employers' public hiring systems. Applying happens on the employer's own site, under the employer's privacy policy, and we don't see your application.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or have it deleted, and object to how we use it. Write toprivacy@getwork.dev. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
